A Note on Assignment Type:
This position is currently listed as “Onsite”; however, the Assignment under this request will provisionally be “Hybrid”, working 7.25 hours per calendar day, sometime between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (excluding breaks) Monday to Friday inclusive, unless otherwise identified. These conditions are subject to change as the OPS reflects on its current situation. During the duration of the assignment, you will be under the discretion of the Hiring Manager’s requirements for the Project you are assigned to.
Scope
- The Justice Technology Services – Digital Design Branch requires one (1) Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist with 8+ years experience for building a modern digital information system and it’s integration with other internal and external applications.
Assignment Deliverables
- The Justice Technology Services – Digital Design Branch requires one (1) Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist with 8+ years experience for building a modern digital information system and it’s integration with other internal and external applications.
- Prepare appropriate level test cases for functional / unit testing
- Perform functional / unit testing and document results
- Assist other parties groups with their related testing activities (UAT)
- Operational support such as reproducing the production bug in lower environments, production data analysis, and dealing with production tickets.
- Participate in Knowledge transfer
A Note on the VOR Master Service Agreement:
The VOR Master Service Agreement which expires on April 5, 2025, leaves some Contracts with funding unassigned for fiscal 2025-26. If the current statement of work expires on March 31, 2025, the remaining funds can be used to exercise an option to extend the SOW beyond March 31, 2025, based on business case approvals. Such extensions will be allowable, only if the Master Service Agreement is extended beyond April 5, 2025, and be upon the same terms, conditions, and covenants contained in the SOW.
The start date is subject to change based on security clearances and contract signing timelines.
Experience and Skillset Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
- 8+ years of demonstrated experience in defect tracking using a collaborative tool to manage defects and change request and to communicate status of these to all project participants.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms
Desired Skills and Experience
- Quality Assurance Skills
- Demonstrated experience in developing test plans, test scripts and test data; documenting software defects and tracking resolutions.
- Experience with User Acceptance Testing and leading initial UAT sessions
- Good analytical, communication skills and ability to work independently and also perform as part of a team.
- Technical Skills
- Hands on experiences with technologies such as SharePoint, .NET Web, Web Services, HTML, JavaScript
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle
- Demonstrated experience documenting and tracking testing and issue tracking systems such as JIRA, Azure DevOps Boards, Asana.
Resumes Evaluation/Criteria:
Criteria 1: QA Skills – 40 Points
- Demonstrated experience in defect tracking using a collaborative tool to manage defects and change request and to communicate status of these to all project participants.
Criteria 2: Technical Skills – 30 Points
- Demonstrated experience documenting and tracking testing and issue tracking systems such as JIRA, Azure DevOps Boards, Asana.
Criteria 3: Business Skills – 25 Points
- Demonstrated experience working with clients and technical teams to ensure effective resolution of defects and management of change requests are complete
Criteria 4: Public Sector Experience – 5 Points
- 5+ years experience working in Government or Public Sector organizations.
